Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and be cleared through the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry prior to beginning substitute employment.

 

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess:

1) a CDL or be able to obtain a CDL;

2) the ability to pass an alcohol test and drug test;

3) the ability to pass a DPS physical;

4) an acceptable driving record;

5) the ability to complete a district-required bus driver safety training;

6) the ability to follow written and verbal instructions;

7) the ability to communicate effectively and manage student behavior;

8) the ability to operate a bus; and

9) a patient and calm demeanor with the public, students and staff.
